Background Ideas for the Beginner

Are you new to stamping and don't have a lot of supplies yet.  You are low income and want to make cards but can't afford a lot of supplies all at one time.  Well the check out some of the ideas I have for making backgrounds.

To get this page started most of my backgrounds at this time will be already in a finished card.  But I will tell you how I made them.  Later I will put actual pics of just the backgroud.

I borrowed some pictures from Pinterest and the internet / google.

You can Purchase White Card Stock from Walmart for $4.99 and receive 150 sheets.

Gift Wrap on a roll, or maybe you received a wrapped gift recently.

Gift Bags can be used as backgrounds or as the main focus on your card.

Sponges make a great background

This is one of my test cards.  I put a sticky note shaped like an apple then sponged the paper.  Once all done I removed the Apple Sticky Note.

Don't have a sponge or ink pad.  No problem.  Wad up a piece of paper, syran wrap, foil.   Dab on ink pad or, food coloring, squished berries, Tea bag, just put on that thinking cap.

Rubber Bands Wrapped around anything.

Wad up some paper.

This Technique is fun.  You should take white card stock or a light color.  Cut it in half, the cut each half in half.  Make several sheets.

Do not stir the colors to much or they get muddy.

Lay your sheets out to dry over night.

This was fun.  Trying to use up some circles.

I love weaving scraps of paper.  This one became a baby quilt.

Paper Pieces layered like stained glass.

Net bags make neat backgrounds when sponged over.
