Recycle Kleenex Boxes
Ok how many times do you finish off a box of Kleenex and just can't toss the box becuase you might could use the pretty box for something? Or maybe you really like to make cards but just don't have the money for more stamps and seems like every card you make is always done with those few stamps you have. Well look around, you can make cards out of lots of things. Gift bags, Keenex box, cereal boxes and more. Well I'm sure back several years ago you might remember the design from this particular Kleenex box.
First I took a piece of white card stock. (I buy a big pack of it from Walmart for about $4.99) I got out my Lavender Ink Pad and a piece of scrap paper. Wadded up the paper and inked it up. Going from ink pad to paper until I covered 6 folded cards.
I then took one of my Birthday stamps and randomly stamped over the back grounds. I then started cutting out the flowers on the Kleenex box. I also cut squares out of some of the box to layer onto my card.
I did some backgrounds in Stampin Up ink color Temping Turqouise.
I Picked out some scrap card stock. Some I ran through my crimper some I did not.
Just changing which paper you crimp changes the look of the entire card. The flower in the card above and the one to the left are almost the same, but look at the difference in the card just by crimping the white or turqouise card stock.
This is from same style Flowers but a different color.
This one to the left I edged one piece with Silver Embossing Powder. It really stood out. And a friend let me use her background stamp. Sorry this pic is not to clear, but you see it is from 1999. grin.
I happened to find all the pieces of this card all put together but no flowers left over from my Kleenex Box. So I found a prestamped flower I had done with a Stampin Up stamp set I had bought. I think it worked pretty good on this.
I hope you enjoyed looking over my cards and that now you have gotten some new ideas for some future cards. If you make a card from a Kleenex box send me a pic and I will share it on here with everyone.
